My site is crawling with people who want everything, and arent afraid to ask for it. Most of the requests/recommendations I agree with it 100%! Here are a few recommended mods...

1. ADMIN PANEL: Administrators can add credit to a users account at any time. Can be useful for fast refunds, errors that the software has (because it does happen!), or just random acts of kindness.

2. Mutual Feedback System. Feedback from both parties is hidden and not counted until both parties leave feedback. This way no retaliatory feedback is left, true feedback is left, and feedback is not a bargining tool. "If you dont leave me feedback and I left you feedback you wont ever know it unless you leave me feedback as well!"

3. Community Page. Something as simple as the vB Memberlist. Shows all the site users in a table with their feedback rating, a link to their auctions page, about me page, etc. Heck, adding a contact member link via email with a verification number would be key... eBay has this, why cant probid users?

4. Basic Hack for the seach boxes on category pages. Why does this start with the advanced search box open? How gay and ugly is that?! How about a simple hack that starts it in the BASIC box first?

5. Stores Hack. How about a hack where all items sold in a store are not charged a Final Value Fee? I dont charge listing fees, so stores as they stand now dont make a lot of sense for my users.

6. Picture Fees Hack. Make it so a set number of pictures are free, and any above that are charged a fee.

7. PayPal Shipping Address Fix. When people pay the verification fee, or for an auction for that matter the address on file in paypal is not sent from the paypal account to the user. All my payements end up as coming in with no confirmed address. Not the safest.

8. Second Address line during registrtion mod. A simple oversight by the original programmers I am sure, but a definate must!

9. True integrated shipping calculator. No brainer, do it JUST like ebay. People choose their shipping method, plug in the weight, handling charges, insurance (required, optional, not offered) and go. Shipping will be automatic lly determined based on your buyers/prospective buyers zip code.

10. Currency Conversion on the page automatically based on your country/currency in your country. Small, but effective and a nice touch.

What does everyone else think?

I am new here and did a search. Just starting with ProBid - and I know this is an old thread....

1. (#4 above) Starting with basic search vs advance. Is there a solution?
2. (#1 above) Can give refunds via AdMin Page.

Thanks - I have many more questions, but I will try to find them via 'search' before asking. Hope to get the best out of this software and start contributing.

I see this is an old thread but after experimenting with PHP Pro Bid I see that this is still an issue. I haven't purchased the software yet because this is a really big sticking point for me and I haven't seen any mods that fix it.

When I would sell on ebay, shipping was an area that I'd often get burned on because I always had to do guesstimates until ebay revised their software and made it, like stated above, a no brainer.

So is anyone working on a mod for this, or can anyone from PHP Pro Bid address this issue? Thanks.
